HP TouchPad, Once sellers iPad Tablet
Warungtech.com-TouchPad, Palm-based tablet PC‘s HP, it is the best selling computer tablet, particularly in the U.S. market after Apple iPad during the first 10 months in the year 2011. The data revealed by the latest report released by NPD Group research institute.
Ironically, TouchPad is a product which is considered failed by HP and its production will not be forwarded.
Quoted from PhysOrg, November 23, 2011, HP TouchPad controls 17 percent market share of total sales of 1.2 million units of non Apple tablet in the United States between January and October. The numbers through the sale of Galaxy tablets made by Samsung which controls 16 percent of the market.
Sequence of non Apple tablet PC seller in the United States is as follows:
• 17% HP
• 16% Samsung
• 10% Asus
• 9% Motorola
• 9% Acer
In his report, Stephen Baker, vice president of Industry Analysis NPD said, 67 percent of users who buy non Apple tablet actually have no intention to buy the iPad. “This indicates that many users are looking for alternatives in the market and an opportunity for players to expand their business tablet,” he said.
Still, there are serious competitors who are ready to halt its producers to successfully compete in the tablet industry. One of the other players are expected to reap success is the Amazon Kindle that has begun marketing the Fire, their latest tablet PC.
According to a survey conducted by ChangeWave Research of the 3043 tablet PC users in North America, it is known that although 65 percent of them plan to buy the iPad, but there are 22 percent who would choose the Kindle Fire.
“Beyond the Galaxy Tab who won 4 percent growth, no other manufacturer who managed to achieve an increase in demand in the top 1 percent of the consumers,” said ChangeWave report.
